Newsprint is generally made by a mechanical milling process with mechanical wood pulp excluding the chemical process that is usually done to remove the lignin of the paper though an increasing quantum of Newsprint is now made with recycled fibres.Newsprint is printable, tear-resistant, opaque, dimensionally stable, and has characteristics to be receptive to Printing inks thus increasing printing efficiency. Newsprint is produced in 3 grades of Standard, Improved and Special, all of which have a distinct improvement in terms of Brightness, Gloss, smoothness and is also produced in pastel shades by some mills in Europe.
